Four Spring Decor Trends (Other Than Pastels and Florals)
Spring decor trends that will be everywhere in 2023. See our hand-picked, interior design and wallpaper ideas to get your home season-ready.
As the seasons change, naturally, so will our homes. You might swap earthy, cozy hues for brighter pastels as the winter blues get swept away by busy spring cleans. We’ve hand-picked four unique springtime-inspired trends to take your home decorating to the next level this year.
1. Escapism
Turning your space into a relaxing staycation is something we can all get behind. Thankfully, this design style has a name; escapism. Usually, this means bringing elements of the outside in. This is perfect for welcoming spring, as it refreshes your surroundings and puts you somewhere that feels tranquil and productive. Not only is this a nice way to change things, but it can also immensely benefit your well-being. Doing this is highly personal and can vary from person to person. Consider implementing soft lighting or greenery around your home. Many find it simple and cost-effective to choose imaginative wallpapers that ease their mind. We recommend our Flower and Serpent wallpaper designed by Brett Beldock for a whimsical mood booster. For more subtle folks, we have our Vista 16 mural, inspired by cheery sunsets.
2. Maximalism
There’s no doubt that bright colors and fun prints cure a low-energy space. If this sounds right up your alley, maximalism might be for you. This style truly goes by the saying, “more is more.” Although this is the case, it’s still a carefully curated interior design type highly customizable to your tastes. The seasons are changing, so why not try something new? This is your chance to express all your patterned, colorful, textured ideas. Try mixing and matching patterns and furniture until you get something you like. Don’t forget the walls! We recommend our Crossroads wallpaper design for a warm, retro pop of color and our Photogram 16 mural for something unique but more subtle.
Tip: For true maximalists, wallpaper goes on the ceilings, too.
3. Coastal
Few things beat the tranquility of a beachside getaway. Believe it or not, it’s possible to bring some of these elements to your home and live (a little) vicariously through them. This style is characterized by a timeless, chic feeling using lots of whites, beiges, and blues to evoke a relaxed feeling. Jute rugs and neutral furniture easily add these touches. Textures are important here because of this style’s subtle nature, so consider lots of linens, light cotton, and rattan. If you’ve decorated your heart out and there’s still something missing, it could be your walls. Our Hikari wallpaper has a minimal tie-dye appearance that adds a beachy touch. We also recommend our Pummakkale design for fans of something more earthy and scenic.
4. Bold Bathrooms
Bathrooms are somewhere we often neglect, as we don’t spend much time here. But, this doesn’t mean it should be forgotten! You’d be surprised how much your perspective on this space can change. If the rest of your home doesn’t seem ready for a spring makeover or you don’t know where to start, perhaps your bathroom is it. There is plenty of opportunity to play around and express yourself here, so consider a bolder bathroom. This can be done by painting cabinets an accent shade or using a fun patterned shower curtain. Bold wallpaper is an easy way to take this space from dull to interesting in minutes. Because these spaces often lack windows and, therefore natural lighting, metallics are a simple solution to brighten and enhance. We can recommend our Michelle’s Starburst design, another wallpaper by Brett Beldock, for that extra touch of light. For those who aren’t metallic fans, we recommend our fun Miami Springs design, created in collaboration with Elisa Passino, to add a pop color and make you (possibly) fall in love with your bathroom.
